Restaurant Client, Los Tacos No. 1, Announces Two New Manhattan Outposts

Pryor Cashman client Los Tacos No. 1 (“Los Tacos”) – the beloved taqueria serving tacos, quesadillas and aguas frescas inside New York City’s Chelsea Market – will expand with the soon-to-open Los Mariscos on the 15th Street side of Chelsea Market. This new outpost will offer fish tacos, ceviches and a raw bar. A midtown Los Tacos is also in the works, following the signing of a 1,700-square-foot lease at 229 West 43rd Street, the former New York Times building owned by Kushner Companies.

Partners Andrea Gendel and Eric D. Sherman, both members of Pryor Cashman’s Real Estate Group, handled the leasing on behalf of Los Tacos, with Partner Richard Frazer, Chair of the firm’s Restaurant, Food + Beverage practice, advising on the financing.

Florida-Based Wok Chi Debuts in New York City

Additionally, firm client Wok Chi – the Florida-based stylish, casual restaurant serving pan-regional Chinese food – will open its first Manhattan location at 918 Third Avenue between East 56th and East 55th Streets. Every item on the menu is MSG-free and all ingredients are meticulously sourced. Guests can also choose from a variety of dim sum and craft beverages for a unique dining experience at every visit.

Wok Chi plans to continue their expansion into Manhattan with a second soon-to-be announced location, for which leasing has already been secured.

Partner Bradley Kaufman, head of Pryor Cashman’s Commercial + Retail Leasing practice, negotiated the Third Avenue lease, while Counsel Ben Teig of the Real Estate Group advised Wok Chi on the lease for its second NYC location.

Frazer counseled Wok Chi on its corporate structuring and related matters.

News of these expansions was reported by various media outlets, including Eater NY, Commercial Observer, Real Estate Weekly Online and DNAinfo.
