Erik Bakke is a member of Pryor Cashman's Litigation Group and represents clients in a wide array of complex commercial disputes and investigations.
His experience stretches across a broad variety of industries, including media and entertainment, financial services, insurance, energy, manufacturing, and real estate. For example, Erik’s experience includes the representation of a:
- Financial products insurer at trial in a breach of contract case in New York State court;
- Large manufacturer in several RICO and state consumer protection law class actions;
- Multinational corporation being investigated by the Department of Justice and state attorneys general;
- Financial institution in several clawback actions related to the Madoff Ponzi scheme; and
- Energy company in an M&A dispute involving potential legacy liability.
Commitment to Pro Bono Work
Erik also strongly believes in giving back to the community through pro bono work, having recently represented:
- Salvadoran refugee seeking asylum in the United States;
- Immigrants rights organization seeking temporary restraining order related to court and detention center conditions; and
- Small businesses and non-profits in connection with the mitigation of litigation and compliance risk during COVID-19.
