Partner Lawrence Remmel Interviewed About Barney Frank Retirement
Partner Lawrence Remmel, Chair of Pryor Cashman’s Banking and Finance Group, was interviewed by Law360 for its article “Financial Crusader Barney Frank Won't Seek Re-Election.”
The article discusses Rep. Barney Frank’s decision to not seek congressional re-election and retire at the end of his present term. The article also considers the consequences of Frank’s retirement on the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and further actions of the House Financial Services Committee, of which he is the present ranking member.
When asked about the future of the Dodd-Frank Act, Remmel, who is experienced in corporate and banking financings, told the publication, “as the face of financial reform and an outspoken advocate, Frank's retirement should help calm the conversation around the remaining issues and make the process of regulation smoother.”
