Karen Platt (plæt) is a partner in Pryor Cashman’s Family Law Group, where her practice focuses on negotiating and litigating a broad range of divorce and family law issues.
Karen’s extensive experience includes:
- Finding creative solutions for complex asset distribution.
- Navigating spousal and child support issues, including understanding each party’s true income.
- Creating custody arrangements across a broad range of family dynamics.
- Negotiating prenuptial agreements that empower the parties and help them start their marriage with a clear understanding of their finances.
- Crafting cohabitation and post-nuptial agreements designed to meet a variety of client needs.
In addition to her extensive work inside the courtroom, Karen is a trained mediator and collaborative lawyer, applying the skills learned through that work in all aspects of her practice.
Prior to and during law school, Karen worked in the financial industry as a registered representative at a major investment company; her background in that industry has given her insight into the understanding her client's investments and deferred income streams.
