Fry Discusses Closing a Hedge Fund to Outside Investors with Hedge Fund Law Report
Partner Bertrand C. Fry, co-chair of Pryor Cashman’s Investment Management Group, was interviewed by Hedge Fund Law Report for its recent article series. The first article, “Going Private: Factors to Consider When Closing a Hedge Fund to Outside Investors”* appeared in the January 21, 2016 edition. Increasingly, there is an inclination on the part of hedge funds to close their funds to outside investment in favor of converting into a private structure. The first article addresses the factors a hedge fund manager should take into account when evaluating whether to convert a hedge fund and the different options to consider once the decision to convert the hedge fund has been made. The second article addresses factors connected with operations in converting a hedge fund, including concerns related to costs as well as a potentially downsized workforce.
