Partner William Charron, a member of Pryor Cashman’s Litigation Group, has been appointed to the Advisory Committee of the Commercial Division of the New York Supreme Court.

The Commercial Division was launched in 1995 to address New York’s role as a preeminent world financial center. As set forth in The Chief Judge’s Task Force on Commercial Litigation in the 21st Century: “Today, the judges of the Commercial Division adjudicate thousands of cases and motions that include some of the most important, complex commercial disputes being litigated anywhere….  Commercial Division judges regularly decide cutting-edge legal issues and oversee massive discovery involving multiple parties, dozens of depositions and millions of documents.”

Charron, a 1998 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, will be working directly with Justices of the Commercial Division and a number of other experienced commercial litigators and business lawyers on a periodic basis to address ways to improve the responsiveness and functioning of the Commercial Division.
