The documentary film "The Cove" directed by Louis Psihoyos and produced by Fisher Stevens and Paula Dupre Pesman won the Academy Award last night, March 7, 2010, for Best Documentary Film. "The Cove" also won the Producer’s Guild of America “best documentary” award and was nominated for 27 other awards (winning 20 of them), including audience awards at the Sundance Film Festival.

A thriller that involves hiding camera equipment in the hills and the waters of a cove, "The Cove" is about both the annual killing of approximately 25,000 dolphins each year in Japan and mercury poisoning in the oceans. It shows how highly tainted dolphin meat is sold in grocery stores and then fed to school children in Japan.

Legal Counsel to the film were Pryor Cashman attorneys Wilder Knight, F. Robert Stein, Louis Ciccone, Anne Atkinson and Jeffrey Johnson.
