Partner Ronnie Schindel discussed the impact of COVID-19 on divorce rates with the New York Law Journal. The government imposed stay-at-home orders and potential income loss has forced families to spend extended and often stressful time together. Read more in the following excerpt:

“In some ways, it’s a perfect storm for a divorce,” said Ronnie Schindel, a partner at Pryor Cashman, noting the pandemic has cut off access to leisure activities and other outlets.

Schindel, who is also the president of the New York chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, said the pandemic will likely hasten the breakup of marriages that were headed for divorce already.
