Pryor Cashman Partner Eric Fishman, who co-heads the firm’s Sports Group, and Associate Nicholas Saady co-wrote an article published in The Licensing Journal about how technology has changed the ways that “athletes monetize their name, image, and likeness, providing both additional revenue streams and a sophisticated way to control and protect their valuable intellectual property.”

In the article, Eric and Nick focus on the considerations for athletes engaged with the metaverse, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), tokenization, and traditional social media — leveraging their experience to discuss the upsides and risks of these approaches.

“A Game Plan for Athletes to Monetize Their Name, Image, and Likeness” appeared in The Licensing Journal, Vol. 42, No. 6.
