Partner Avram Morell Represents American Immigration Lawyers Association at Liaison Meeting With OCAHO at Department of Justice
Partner Avram Morell, a member of Pryor Cashman’s Immigration Law Group, along with two other members of the immigration bar, represented the 13,000-member American Immigration Lawyers Association, at a liaison meeting at the Department of Justice with the Office of the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer (OCAHO) on October 22, 2015.
OCAHO is the venue for judicial review of sanctions imposed on employers by the Department of Homeland Security for hiring unauthorized workers or failing to properly verify the eligibility of all employees for employment. OCAHO also reviews findings by the Office of Special Counsel for Unfair Immigration Related Employment Practices (OSC) of national origin discrimination, citizenship discrimination, and document abuse.
