Partner Avram Morell, a member of Pryor Cashman’s Immigration group, was a panelist at this American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) New York Chapter CLE event titled, “Immigration Agency Interviews 101: What to Expect, How to Prep Your Client, and What to Do When Things Go Wrong”  held on September 21, 2015 in New York, NY.

This fundamental program utilized mock interviews to provide newer practitioners with an understanding of what happens during various immigration agency interviews. Panelists explained the procedure and what to expect during a marriage-based interview at the USCIS District Office, a nonimmigrant visa application interview at a U.S. consulate, as well as a TN application with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Panelists also offered tips on how to best prepare clients for the interview, including what to bring. Finally, the session addressed what to do when things go wrong either due to actions of the client or the government adjudicator.
