Americana Music Festival and Conference in Nashville
Pryor Cashman Partner Karen Robson, a member of the Media + Entertainment, Banking + Finance, Intellectual Property, Corporate, and Digital Media Groups, and Associate Sophia Sofferman, a member of the Media + Entertainment and M+E Litigation Groups, participated in and attended the Americana Music Festival and Conference hosted by the Americana Music Association in Nashville, Tennessee, on September 18-21.
As CLE panelists at the conference, Karen and Sophia addressed entertainment attorneys, artists, managers, labels, radio stations, publishers, agents, promoters, as well as legal and business affairs executives and new media professionals.
On Friday, September 20, at 1:30 p.m. CST, Karen spoke on the panel “Digital Defense: Safeguarding Your Client Online,” moderated by Todd Hartley, SVP of Legal and Business Affairs at the Country Music Association. The panel addressed the legal principles and practical strategies essential for protecting clients' online presence and creative works amid evolving online platforms.
On Thursday, September 19, at 10 a.m. CST, Sophia spoke on the panel “Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?” moderated by Judy Tint. The panel explored how musicians can capitalize on various sources of income and address the current opportunities and challenges in the music industry, offering legal insights to help navigate these complexities effectively.
