Pryor Cashman Partner Karen M. Robson, a member of the firm’s Media + Entertainment, Banking + Finance, Intellectual Property, Corporate, and Digital Media Groups, was interviewed by Daniel Arbon, Deputy Newsletter Editor at The Australian Financial Review, in an article about her career and life as a former movie star turned entertainment lawyer.

In From Picnic at Hanging Rock to making it as a lawyer in Hollywood,” Karen discusses her transition from acting to law and how her experience in the entertainment industry influenced her legal career:

"Yes, my famous acting career. Well, I was in really one film in my life. It just happens to be a very sort of famous film in Australian film history, and it has been an extraordinary thing that has followed me my entire career," she says.

[…] There was one other film that I really wanted, which was My Brilliant Career, which Judy Davis did, and I was not really a very experienced actor, and I did not get that role, and I just thought, you know what? I think I'll just go to university."

Karen also shared insights into significant entertainment law matters she’s been involved in, including celebrity negotiations.
