Pryor Cashman Client Dr. Nita Ahuja Announced as Next Dean of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
Pryor Cashman is proud to congratulate client Dr. Nita Ahuja, a distinguished surgeon-scientist and healthcare innovator, on her appointment as the next dean of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and vice chancellor for medical affairs.
Dr. Ahuja, currently the chair of Yale University’s Department of Surgery, has led groundbreaking advancements in oncology research and patient care. As a trailblazing leader, she was the first woman to chair Yale’s Department of Surgery in its 200-year history and has a proven track record of bringing together multidisciplinary teams to tackle complex healthcare challenges. She will officially assume her role at UW–Madison on May 15, 2025.
Dr. Ahuja’s negotiations with the University of Wisconsin were led by Partner Shane J. Stroud, Chair of the Executive Compensation, ERISA + Employee Benefits Practice.
