Pryor Cashman Partner Kelly Siobhan Laffey, a member of the firm’s Corporate Group and a member of the Mergers + Acquisitions (M+A) and Emerging Companies + Venture Capital Practice Groups, was quoted in an article by Mergers & Acquisitions examining the continued slowdown in middle-market M&A activity and the growing signs of a potential turnaround in the second half of the year.
In the article, “Mergers & Acquisitions: July Dealflow Down Again But Signs Are Pointing Up,” Kelly weighed in on how current market conditions are prompting founders and operators to consider exits sooner than expected:
“Middle market M&A continues to move in the direction of more exits and more deals closing[.] Founders and operators have become fatigued by the tightness in the capital markets and so are looking to exit, even if not the best deal to be made, sooner than they may have otherwise.”
