Pryor Cashman Partner Benjamin Akley, a member of the Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Media + Entertainment Groups, gave a “Minor Contract Confirmation” CLE presentation to attorneys at firm client Universal Music Group (UMG).

Ben spoke about the risks in contracting with minors in the entertainment industry and a few of the ways that those risks can be mitigated. The presentation outlined various states’ policies and procedures for obtaining court “approval” of minor contracts, which makes such contracts enforceable where they otherwise might not be.
