Ethan Lankri, CFA is a member of Pryor Cashman’s Investment Management, Tax, and Corporate Groups.

Drawing on his strong finance experience as a CFA® charterholder and former investment analyst, his academic background in mathematics and economics, and his tax expertise, Ethan counsels clients in investment management and broader corporate spaces in navigating complex and sophisticated transactions, including acquisitions and sales of investment management businesses, GP-led secondaries, and ECVC financings, as well as assisting clients in the structuring and formation of private equity funds, including BDCs and direct lending treaty funds.

Ethan’s clients rely on him to provide innovative approaches to challenging and novel issues, specifically ones that require a keen understanding of multifaceted business and investment goals, including from a financial and quantitative perspective. His practice focuses on representing sophisticated upper-middle-market clients, and utilizes his unique background to help CEOs and portfolio managers select value-maximizing approaches to guide their companies to growth and success, both from a legal and commercial perspective.

Ethan’s specific experience includes:

  • Negotiating a broad array of term sheets and purchase and sale agreements.
  • Structuring unique fund-of-one solutions to facilitate investments in bespoke alternative assets.
  • Navigating the tax considerations applicable to credit and real estate funds.
  • Multijurisdictional private equity fund structuring.
  • Advising on co-investment transactions involving multiple parties with competing aims.

Before joining Pryor Cashman, Ethan held in-house positions at a New York-based private equity firm and a specialty products financial services firm.
