In the midst of a global pandemic, unprecedented issues have arisen involving contract enforceability and considerations of impacts on all interested parties. Join Pryor Cashman attorneys Rich Levy, Lisa Buckley, Brad Rose, and Matt Barkan for a Zoom presentation providing an overview of the application of the doctrine of force majeure and related principles of contract law in civil litigation and in bankruptcy cases. The panel, moderated by Dyan Finguerra-DuCharme, will address how and when the doctrine may and may not be invoked, the implications and impacts of using force majeure clauses, the parameters under which force majeure is measured, and how courts have applied the doctrine in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
