Pryor Cashman has been named one of the nation’s top law firms by Chambers USA for the 12th consecutive year. As in previous years, the firm’s Media + Entertainment and Immigration Groups, along with several individual attorneys, were recognized among the best in their fields.

“Superb” Media + Entertainment Litigators

The firm’s Media + Entertainment Group was noted for its strength in the music litigation space, particularly in disputes on behalf of artists, songwriters, music publishers, and record labels. Chambers also cited the firm’s expertise in “royalty rate-setting, contractual and intellectual property litigation,” calling the Group “adept in counseling clients involved in theater, film, TV and literary publishing."

According to client feedback, "[They] are a go-to for matters involving music copyright royalties and music publishing." One interviewee states: "The team as a whole is superb. They work well together and are always available for any kind of questions or concerns we might have."

Donald Zakarin, co-head of the Litigation Group, was singled out for his work representing well-known music publishers, record companies and recording artists in their most significant disputes, with a particular focus on high-stakes copyright disputes. “He is very skilled and can digest complicated matters and come up with pragmatic and simple solutions...” Chambers wrote.

Similarly, Brad Rose, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, was once again recognized for his work on behalf of well-known artists, music publishers, and other prominent clients in the media and entertainment industry, with Chambers noting that "...[he] comes especially recommended for his expertise in trademark and copyright matters." Brad has also once again been recognized for his Intellectual Property prowess, with Chambers noting that Rose "maintains a respected brand management practice that frequently sees him act for clothing retailers and figures in the media and entertainment sector."

Immigration Group Is “Unmatched”

Chambers also highlighted the firm’s Immigration Group for its "strong team housed within a full-service firm, offering counsel on a full range of business immigration matters," with one client reporting "[the] Pryor Cashman team is unmatched in its professionalism, expertise and dedication.” Chambers praises the team for "...[advising] national and multinational clients across an expansive array of industries, including education and technology," with particular recognition for "[their] specialty in immigration matters arising in the sports industry." "From start to finish, [the firm's] lawyers were very good at working under tight deadlines, very knowledgeable, and they paid a lot of attention to the details," says another source.

Immigration Group Chair Colleen Caden was praised for her niche expertise in advising national sports organizations on immigration issues. Clients note: "She always meets deadlines and the quality of her work is superb."

Partner Avram Morell was recognized in both Chambers USA and Chambers Global as "a very thoughtful practitioner" who is "always sharp."

"High Praise' in Leisure & Hospitality

For the first time, Chambers has recognized Todd Soloway, co-chair of the Litigation Group and head of the Hotel + Hospitality group, for his widely successful work in the Leisure & Hospitality space. According to Chambers, "[he] garners high praise for his handling of disputes arising from franchise and hotel management agreements, among other complex mandates," with one interviewee calling Todd "probably one of the most knowledgeable lawyers out there today in terms of hotel litigation."
